Tattooing in Bali has its certain charm. When you ask where is the best place to get a Bali tattoo people would likely point you out to one direction; the touristy areas of the South of Bali. This area is known as Badung regency. And it’s where all the most crowded beaches clump in; Kuta beaches, Double Six, you name it. The tattoo community in Bali is something that grows along with the tourism industry, so it’s no wonder that the cluster of tattoo shops you’ll find is going to be within this area.

Planning to get a tattoo in Seminyak area? With only 15 to 30 minutes ride away from Kuta, Seminyak is known to be the classier counterpart of the area. Numerous boutiques lined up the streets of Seminyak and it’s basically a shopping haven for vacationers. And when it comes to tattoo, the area definitely does not lack the places. You can find many tattoo studios together with the many boutiques in Seminyak. Some of the notable names are Luxury Ink Bali, West Coast Ink Bali, Blockbuster Ink, to name a few.

Getting a tattoo in Canggu

Canggu is definitely one o the best place to get a tattoo in Bali if you’d like to have a relaxing, laid-back vibes compared to when you’re getting inked in say, Seminyak or Kuta. One of the notable tattoo shops we’ve found there is Koloni Tattoo that provides an ultra-modern tattooing experience and a stylishly comfortable space; something we unfortunately don’t encounter much in Bali. They have skilled & super friendly guest residents and some pretty awesome guest spots as well coming in every month. It’s one of the most modern places to get a tattoo in Bali we’ve found so far.

The area is just an unknown village a decade ago, barely getting any traffic from tourists. But now, it’s one of the most hipster areas in Bali. Canggu is also loved for its surfing scene. The area is located in a perfect location; tucked away from the main hustle bustle of the tourist area, lots of rice fields in the small streets, and yet still so close to Seminyak, with only 10 minutes ride away from the main Sunset Road.

Kuta and Legian tattoo parlors

Finding a cluster of tattoo shops in Kuta is definitely not a difficult task. Among the areas we listed here, Kuta and Legian has the most tattoo places when it comes to numbers. However, it does take some digging in to actually find gems here. Don’t just walk into any tattoo shop just because they offer a deal. Properly research the shops first! One of the good ones we’ve heard a lot about is Mex Tattoo Kuta. The folks over there are friendly and they’re good at their craft.

Inking in Sanur

Sanur is technically in Denpasar and it’s definitely away from all of the areas mentioned above. But it’s also the oldest tourist area in Bali preceding others. You’re guaranteed to find some solid selections of tattoo places here. One of the notable ones is Segara Ink Tattoo that has great workmanship and they’re very reasonably priced. It’s worth looking into when you’re looking for the best tattoo place in Bali that’s still affordable.

Denpasar tattoo studio

Denpasar is the local’s domain and it’s where you’d expect the most affordable tattoos are located. It’s slightly more difficult to find tattoo places here because there aren’t a cluster of them. Not cheap by any means, but certainly worth a look if you’re curious to get a tattoo faraway from the tourist areas.
